Horsemanship
Horsemanship lessons offer a holistic approach to many aspects of horse handling including leading, grooming, tacking up, and horseback riding. Working with horses is a fantastic form of physical and mental exercise. Students of all levels will gain increased clarity, communication skills, coordination, and balance while connecting with horses in the great outdoors.
To ensure optimal learning and safety all beginners must start out with private lessons.
Students are required to wear slip off heeled boots, long pants, and an equestrian helmet while on or near horses. Students who wish to use their own horses will be required to schedule a brief testing session with the horses beforehand to ensure that the horses are suitable for this type of activity.

Hug A Horse
Hug A Horse is a hands on, on the ground program specifically for those who wish to spend time with horses, and are looking for a 'horse experience', but do not wish to ride or are unable to ride. This type of horsemanship is also great for those who hope to ride at some point in the future but first need to gain an understanding of horses or overcome fears, as well as individuals looking to bond with and learn about horses. Individuals with differing abilities, physical or mental challenges, and seniors have had great success with this program.
The material covered can be added to a regular riding program in order to increase the range of learning.

Holistic Horsemanship
Our Holistic Horsemanship program is perfect for students who wish to spend time with horses while practicing wellness techniques such as stretching, deep breathing, yoga, energy medicine, progressive muscle relaxation, core strengthening exercises, and much more.
Each session is tailored to the student's physical and/or emotional goals and will include time both on the ground and on horseback. We work both in an enclosed space and on tranquil trail rides through the beautiful countryside.
These lessons allow participants to the time and space to to focus on healing and personal growth, and are also available in a full day Holistic Horsemanship Workshop format.

Work To Ride
Our new Work to Ride program has been put in place for students and/or families of students who wish to participate in riding lessons, or any of our other programs, in exchange for helping with chores around our property such as caring for the horses, yard work, gardening, and build projects.
Programs such as this have been successful for individuals who wish to:
~spend time working outdoors
~develop a strong work ethic
~get a great full body, functional workout
~barter for all or a portion of their fees
Students under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate in this program. All participants must have appropriate clothing and footwear.

Exchange
Beginner Projects:
We offer $15/hr towards any of our programs or gift certificates in exchange for simple projects such as raking, mucking, watering, collecting rocks and sticks, weeding, etc.
Intermediate Projects:
We offer $25/hr towards any of our programs or gift certificates in exchange for slightly more in depth projects such as assisting with build projects and other tasks that requires the skills to use hand tools.
Complex Projects:
Complex projects that involve trading for prebuilt items or the use of tools such as chainsaws, skid steer, etc. will be worked out as they arise. Let us know what you have in mind!

Rainbow Riders
The Rainbow Rider Program is a new addition to our services. We designed this program for students who want to work their way through horse theory, groundwork and riding in a more structured way.
Starting with Red, students will work their way through the colours of the rainbow to earn certificates and advance through the booklets and lesson plan in the series.
Each colour level will include body language, care of horse, groundwork activities, riding skills and more.
Students will progress at their own pace, working through the take home booklet and a non-specified number of lessons until they have mastered the skills of each colour level. Upon completion students will be given a groundwork, riding, and Q&A test. These tests are low pressure and students will only be offered the chance to do them when they are deemed ready by the instructor, and in some cases, their parents.
We are so excited to be able to offer something geared towards riders of all ages and ability levels. This program includes a lot of extras that most horsemanship programs do not teach, taking into account relationship development between students and horses. There is no one size fits all riding lesson, and there is no one size fits all Rainbow Rider Program! We do not demand or require that students preform tasks they are not comfortable with, nor we do not allow students to progress just to keep them moving.
